Organized Retail Crime Awareness Campaign “It Costs Us All”

The Toronto Crime Stoppers “Organized Retail Crime Awareness” campaign is a crucial public service initiative aimed at raising awareness about the growing threat of Organized Retail Crime (ORC) and Illicit Trade. In alignment with the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police’s (OACP) Retail Safety & Security Guide this initiative aims to educate the public on the scale of the problem, send a clear message that the retail industry is taking action, and encourage citizens to anonymously report criminal activity to Crime Stoppers.

The campaign emphasizes that ORC is not simply “shoplifting,” but a highly organized and often violent criminal enterprise.

It highlights the significant financial impact on retailers and consumers, as well as the safety risks posed to employees and the public.
