The National Capital Area Crime Stoppers program is recruiting for a qualified candidate to join its team in the role of Administrative Coordinator. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a difference as the program fosters community partnerships with police, working with the public and media to keep our communities safer.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Board, the Coordinator will develop and maintain common administrative systems and procedures to ensure smooth operations for the organization and provide administrative support including:
- preparation/dissemination of routine correspondence/communications
- preparation/dissemination of Agendas/materials for internal/external meetings
- taking/distributing Minutes as required
- following the procedures set by the Treasurer to process routine financial transactions such as bank deposits, accounts payable and prepare month-end documentation for the Treasurer
- supporting the annual golf tournament fundraiser
- producing/maintaining various tracking documents
- official CRA tax receipts
- inventory of promotional items
- golf sponsorship/registration
- obtaining/researching quotes for promotional items/office supplies
- regular mail pick-up from the PO Box
This is a contract position averaging approximately 30 hours per month, with a competitive hourly rate.
Competencies/Skills Required
- 5 – 8 years of professional administrative experience
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational/time management skills and multi-tasking ability
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office
- Effective mathematical abilities and knowledge of financial concepts
- personal qualities of integrity, sound judgement, credibility and ability to maintain confidentiality
- reliable transportation
The Coordinator will be expected to:
- successfully pass a Police Background Check
- prepare for and attend the Board Meetings (two hours the last Thursday evening each month)
- foster a positive working relationship with Board Members
