The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in the homicide investigation of 21-year-old Raphael Atende.
 
The homicide that occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday, October 18th, in the 1700 block of Russell Road.
 
The person of interest is known to frequent the Russell Heights Community. He is described as Black with a dark complexion, around nineteen to twenty-one years old and approximately 6’1” in height.

Le Service de police d’Ottawa (SPO) sollicite l’aide du public en vue d’identifier une personne d’intérêt dans le cadre d’une enquête sur l’homicide de Raphael Atende, âgé de 21 ans.

L’homicide en question survint peu après minuit, le samedi 18 octobre dernier, dans le pâté de maisons des 1700 du chemin Russell.

Cette personne d’intérêt serait un habitué de la communauté de Russell Heights. Il a été décrit comme étant un homme de race noire au teint foncé, âgé d’environ dix-neuf à vingt-et-un ans, et mesurant autour de 1,85 m (6 pi 1 po).

Person to identify in St. Laurent Blvd homicide investigation

 The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in connection with a homicide investigation on St. Laurent Boulevard.
The incident occurred between the evening of Wednesday, October 1, 2025, and the early morning hours of Thursday, October 2, 2025, in the 500 block of St. Laurent Boulevard.
 
Photos and video footage of the individual, who was seen in the area around the time of the incident, are attached to this release. Investigators with the OPS Homicide Unit are hoping someone may recognize this person.

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION Search Continues for Killer(s) of Mohamed Amin ISMAIL

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Five years have passed since the body of 25-year-old Mohamed Amin ISMAIL was discovered north of Guelph, the result of a homicide. Investigators are renewing the appeal for individuals to come forward with information, no matter how small the detail may seem.

On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at approximately 7:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a deceased individual discovered along the roadway on Watson Road North, just south of Wellington Road 124. The deceased was identified as Ottawa resident, Mohamed Amin ISMAIL.

The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit continues the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). Investigators believe that individuals in the areas of Wellington County, Kitchener-Waterloo and Ottawa may have information that can help determine what happened to Mohamed.

“Despite the passage of five years, investigators know that there are those in the community who have vital information that can help bring resolution to Mohamed’s family. We urge those individuals to please come forward to assist our investigators.”- Detective Inspector Michael Moore, Major Case Manager, OPP CIB.
