Ottawa Crime Stoppers & The Balanced Approach Present:

Weekly 30-minute Zoom yoga classes to kickstart the month of June and start the summer off right!

We are thrilled to announce a partnership with Elycia from the Balanced Approach! She has graciously volunteered to teach 30-minute Yoga Vinyasa classes. Not to worry – these classes are great for all age groups and abilities. Elycia’s classes are a perfect way to fit a little bit of wellness into each week, and can be done over Zoom (without the camera) from the comfort of your own home! Classes do not require any special equipment or prior Yoga knowledge. We recommend comfortable clothing, a yoga mat or towel, and some water.

Class dates are as follows:

  • Monday May 31st 2021 at 4:00pm (This session completed)

  • Monday June 7th 2021 at 4:00pm (This session completed)

  • Monday June 14th 2021 at 4:00pm (This session completed)

  • Monday June 21st 2021 at 4:00pm (This session completed)

Tickets to join us are only $20 (Now $5 for last remaining session), and can be purchase through Canadahelps.org, or through the Crime Stoppers event page. Additional donations are always welcome and appreciated. We would especially like to thank Elycia for volunteering to help fund raise with us!

“Elycia Kellett is a certified yoga teacher, who teaches alignment based vinyasa yoga. During one of Elycia’s classes you can expect a class tailored to all levels, with lots of modifications and a chance to challenge yourself. Elycia is also a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and the founder of the Balanced Approach. The Balanced Approach is a safe and supportive space where people can come to improve their overall well-being through a balanced lifestyle with healthy habits around fitness, nutrition and wellness. A Matter of Crime Webinar Series

“A Matter of Crime” is part of a Plan and Protect Webinar Series.

The Webinars will feature guest speakers from law enforcement and other experts, who will cover advice and topics related to planning and protecting, such as, how to spot scams and fraud, general safety, and protection of your home. Future Webinars will also include seasonal topics, such as bicycle theft, how to spot human trafficking, and more experts will provide timely and relevant advice.

Zoom invitations will be sent prior to the webinar to the email address you register when purchasing a ticket. If you already use Zoom with a different email, you may have connection issues. Therefore, please test the Zoom link when you receive it well ahead of the event to ensure you can connect (labelled “Click Here to Join” in the email).

National Capital Area Crime Stoppers Partners with echec au crime of Quebec

On November 30th 2015 Mr.Richard McMullen – President of the National Capital Area Crime Stoppers (NCACS) and Sgt. Art Wong – police coordinator for NCACS met with the provincial board of directors and police coordinator for Échec au Crime Quebec. The meeting resulted in an agreement for more collaborative work, exchanging ideas and strategies.echec au crime is Crime Stoppers’ equivalent, servicing  all of Quebec with the exception of Montreal.

Contraband Tobacco Segment on ROGERS tv Daytime Ottawa

On Tuesday May 10th 2016 Gary Grant, National Spokesperson of the National Coalition Against Contraband Tobacco and Richard McMullen, president of the National Capital Area Crime Stoppers appeared on ROGERS tv Daytime Ottawa to raise awareness of the contraband tobacco issue. They talked about identifying contraband tobacco, how to report it and the anonymity of calling Crime Stoppers.

National Capital Area Crime Stoppers Elect New Executives – July 2013

Ottawa, ON July 4, 2013

The National Capital Area Crime Stoppers held its Annual General Meeting on June 26th, 2013 and are pleased to announce the election of Mr. Richard McMullen as President. Joining him on the Executive will be Mr. Liam Farrell as Secretary and Ms. Monique Krempig as Treasurer. Mr. Jim Tugwell will continue to serve as Vice-President. Each brings extensive knowledge and expertise to the board, including having served at the Director level.

The Board would like to acknowledge the excellent work and dedication of immediate past President, Mr. Wayne Bissett. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Chuck Everett who has been a long term Secretary and Treasurer. Both Mr. Bissett and Mr. Everett will continue to serve on the board.
