Suspects to identify in attempted Alta Vista area distraction theft / Suspects à identifier relativement à une tentative de vol par détournement d’attention, secteur Alta Vista
The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying three suspects involved in a distraction theft investigation.
On March 27th at approximately 6:40 p.m., the two female suspects approached a senior citizen in the Alta Vista/Smyth Road area and attempted to remove a necklace from their neck.
The suspects left the scene in a dark-coloured 2011 – 2014 Ford Edge.
Suspect descriptions
- Suspect 1 is described as a Middle Eastern woman, approximately 5’2″ or 5’3″ tall, with dark hair. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a light-coloured sweater, a light blue floral shirt underneath, a long black skirt and dark-coloured sneakers.
- Suspect 2 is described as a Middle Eastern woman, approximately 5’2″ or 5’3″ tall, with dark hair. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a light-coloured sweater and a long skirt or dress.
- Suspect 3, the driver of the Ford Edge, is a man with dark facial hair. At the time, he was wearing a light button-up t-shirt.
The Robbery Unit is continuing the investigation.

Le Service de police d’Ottawa (SPO) sollicite l’aide de la population en vue d’identifier trois suspects recherchés dans le cadre d’une enquête sur des vols par détournement d’attention.
Le vendredi 27 mars vers 18 h 40, deux des suspects, des femmes, abordèrent une aînée près de la croisée de la promenade Alta Vista et du chemin Smyth et tentèrent de lui dérober le collier qu’elle portait.
Les suspects quittèrent les lieux à bord d’un VUS Ford Edge de modèle 2011– 2014 et de couleur foncée.
Signalement des suspects
- La suspecte no1 a été décrite comme étant une femme d’origine moyen-orientale, mesurant autour de 1,57-1,60 m (5 pi 2 ou 3 po), à la chevelure foncée. Elle portait alors un chandail de couleur pâle par-dessus une chemise bleu clair à motif floral, une longue jupe noire et des espadrilles de couleur sombre;
- Le suspecte no2 a été décrite comme étant une femme d’origine moyen-orientale, mesurant autour de 1,57-1,60 m (5 pi 2 ou 3 po), à la chevelure foncée. Elle portait alors un chandail de couleur pâle et une longue jupe ou robe;
- Le suspect no3, conducteur du Ford Edge, est un homme à la barbe foncée. Il portait alors un polo de couleur claire.
L’Unité des vols qualifiés poursuit l’enquête.
