The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating the recent robberies of two Bank Street drugstores and is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect responsible.
On May 21, 2017, at approximately 9:50 pm, a lone suspect entered a drug store situated along the 400 block of Bank Street. The suspect approached a cashier and produced a note making a demand for money. The suspect indicated he was armed though no weapon was seen. The suspect fled the premises empty-handed. There were no injuries.
A short time later, the same suspect entered a drug store situated along the 700 block of Bank Street. The suspect approached a cashier and produced a note making a demand for money. The suspect indicated he was armed though no weapon was seen. The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of cash. There were no injuries.
The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, 40-50 years, medium build. At the time, he was wearing a burgundy shirt, a blue baseball cap with a grey peak, grey pants, black shoes, and black-framed glasses.
