Ottawa: West end Purse snatching Incidents


The Ottawa Police West Division Investigation Unit and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance with a series of purse snatching incidents in the west end.

In mid December and January an unidentified male approached the victim and grabbed their purse then fled on foot to a vehicle waiting nearby. Investigator believes the events are related. In two of the incidents the driver of the getaway vehicle was described as a female with dark hair tied in a ponytail. The vehicle was described as possibly a SUV red in color.

Desc: Caucasian male, approximately 6’ (183cm) tall, mid 20 years old, thin build, short hair, wearing blk jacket, grey hoodie in one incident.
