January is Crime Stoppers Month.
January 2017 Crime Stoppers will be celebrating 32 years in the Ottawa area. The National Capital Area Crime Stoppers will be helping promote awareness of the program at various locations throughout the city. The National Capital Area Crime Stoppers program is a non-profit organization that receives anonymous information from the public to assist police with the resolution of crimes.
This year’s theme for Crime Stoppers month will be,
“See something, Hear something, Say something.”
These words have been used around the world by groups and organizations in an effort to raise public awareness and the importance or reporting suspicious or criminal activity.
“If you see something or hear something suspicious and want to report a crime without identifying yourself, we are here to help.”
Please drop by to find out more about the program and speak with coordinators and volunteers to answer any question.
Here are locations to come and visit between 11:00am till 2:00pm.
The Crime Stoppers program guarantees the anonymity of the tipster. Remember Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display, we will not record your call and you are not required to testify in court. If your information leads to an arrest or a charge, you could qualify for a cash reward of up to $2000.
