Convenience Store Robbery

09-45116 photo.docOttawa Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public in solving a number of armed robberies that have occurred at the same Food Frenz convenience store located on Carling Avenue in west Ottawa.
One of these robberies took place on February 19, 2009 at about midnight, when two suspects burst through the main entrance to the store, located at 2910 Carling Avenue, and proceeded to threaten the store attendant and rob him of cash and goods. Other customers were in the store at the time of the robbery. One of the suspects ransacked the shelves for cigarettes and the other brandished a handgun in the face of the clerk demanding cash. After accumulating sufficient cigarettes in a bag, the suspects then fled the store on foot on Grenon Avenue toward Penny Drive in the Ritchie Street Projects.
The first suspect was a black male, stood about 6′ 1″ to 6’2″, weighed about 170 lbs and wore a black winter jacket with a fur lined hood pulled up. He had blue jeans on and wore white running shoes. He spoke English, without an accent.
The second suspect was a black male, in his mid 20′s, stood about 5’9″, and weighed about 150 lbs. He had short black curly hair and wore a grey waist-length puffy jacket and blue jeans.
