The Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police has requested the assistance of the public in solving a homicide that occurred in Morewood near Cornwall, Ontario.
In the early morning hours (just before day break) of February 12, 2007, Randy RANKIN, a well-known follower and critic of harness racing, was found murdered in his home in the rural area of Morewood, Ontario. The victim was discovered seated in a chair in the basement of his residence.
It is believed that the killer had approached the residence from the outside on the front of the house and then shot the victim through a window. It was determined that Rankin had died as a result of a gunshot wound.
The O.P.P. is offering a special reward of $50.000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this murder.
