Crime Stoppers and the Ottawa Police Service are seeking your help in solving a suspicious fire that occurred on Midland Crescent in June 2008.
On Friday June 13, 2008 the Ottawa Fire Department was called to a residential fire at 6 Midland Crescent in the City of Ottawa. The residence was in the process of being constructed and was unoccupied. The fire was so severe that it spread to the neighboring home at 4 Midland Crescent, occupied by a family of two adults and one child. Damages to both properties were significant and totaled about $1 million. No casualties resulted.
The Ottawa Police and Fire Services are investigating. However the cause of this fire has not been determined.
Information was received that this incident occurred on the "Tequila Sunrise Annual Bush Party Night". This is an annual event held by graduating high school students from an area high school. No link has been established between the fire and this event, which was held nearby.
If these fires are deemed criminal in nature, the underwriting insurance company is prepared to offer a supplemental reward of at least $1000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible.
