The Ottawa Police Service has requested that the Crime Stoppers’ Organization seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in a violent assault in a downtown hotel.
On the 08 September 2007 at about 02:00 AM, the victim left the Minglewoods Bar located at 101 York Street. Outside the bar, a female grabbed the victim’s hat and ran off with it playfully. The victim chased the female and she tripped and fell on the sidewalk. She accused the victim of tripping him and she began to yell at the victim. At that time, 4 other male associates of the female ran towards the victim.
The victim fled the scene and took refuge in a nearby hotel. The victim entered an elevator but he was unable to close the elevator doors, because the hotel security measures require the use of a hotel magnetic card to access the floors. The 4 males followed him into the elevator and they beat the victim to unconsciousness.
The victim was transported to hospital where he was treated for a concussion.
The suspects were caught on the hotel surveillance cameras and these images were released to the police:
1) First suspect is a 20-25 year old white male, 5’10”, 181 lbs, thin/slender build, fair complexion, brown brush cut, unshaven;
2) Second suspect is a 20-25 year old white male, 5’10”, 181 lbs, thin/slender build, brown brush cut hair;
3) Third suspect is a 20-25 year old white male, 6’, 190 lbs, thin/slender build, fair complexion, short dark brown hair;
