(Hawkesbury, Ontario) On Friday the 07 December 2007, uniform members of the Ontario Provincial Police, Hawkesbury Detachment held a spaghetti fund raising lunch at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex. The purpose of this lunch was to raise funds for the local Crime Stoppers Program.
The money raised will be used to pay rewards to persons who provide information which leads to arrests.
Officers worked as cooks and waiters to prepare and serve more than 313 meals. The event allowed the OPP to raise $2,190.61.
Acting Detachment Commandant, Inspector Claude Boileau (OPP), stated "This event allowed us to raise funds which will allow us to fight crime in our community. I would like to thank all of our sponsors and everyone who assisted us with this initiative. Their participation allowed this to be a successful event."
