Gatineau Police have requested that the Crime Stoppers’ Organization seek the assistance of the public in identifying the suspect involved in a break and enter in the City of Gatineau.

At about 6 AM on the 03 March 2007 a lone male broke into the POP-O-BAR located at 75 Greber Boulevard in the Gatineau Sector. Entry was gained by forcing a side door on the south side of the building. Once inside the lone male went directly to a floor safe at the rear of the bar. The male suspect managed to force the safe open and emptied its contents. At that time the janitor reported for work and caught the suspect in the act. The suspect then fled the scene with the safe’s contents.

Description of the suspect: white male, 5’8”, 225 lbs, chubby, grey hair, grey moustache, red checkered hunting coat, black nylon pants and a black and green toque.

Travel Trailer Theft

Ottawa Police have requested Crime Stoppers’ Organization seek the assistance of the public in identifying the suspects involved in the theft of a travel trailer from the Freedom RV dealership that is located on Prince of Wales Drive next to Car Canada.

At about 10pm on Sunday evening March 25, 2007 a travel trailer was removed from the lot of the Freedom RV dealership located at 5797 Prince of Wales Drive next to Car Canada. The trailer is a Desert Fox Travel Trailer of Northwood Manufacturing in Virginia and is valued at about $40,000.00. A picture of the trailer is shown complete with the decals that were attached when it was stolen. A feature of the trailer is that it has a tow bar and not a fifth wheel coupling as is usual with a trailer of this size. It may be that the trailer is slightly damaged as a result of a collision with the vehicle that was used as a blocker at the entrance to the lot. The blocker vehicle was found, after the theft, to have been slightly damaged.

The Ottawa Police Service has requested Crimestoppers’ Organisation seek the assistance of the public in identifying the suspects involved in a theft and fraud that occurred at the Herongate Mall recently.

At around 12:30pm on Friday March 23, 2007, two elderly females went shopping in the Herongate Mall just off Heron Road in the southern section of the city. The two ladies made a number of purchases in several stores in the Mall. While they were shopping, two other persons, a male and a female were following them. When one of the elderly ladies came to pay for her purchases with a debit card, the female suspect positioned herself in such a manner that she was able to take note of the victim’s PIN number.

After they completed their purchases the elderly ladies left the mall and went to their vehicle in the parking lot. One of the ladies laid her purse on the pavement while she helped her friend put her walker in the trunk of her car. At that moment the two suspects approached the ladies and distracted them by asking them for information on buses serving the Mall. During the distraction one of the suspects removed the wallet from the purse that was on the pavement. Money was subsequently removed from the victim’s bank accounts and several purchases were made in the Ottawa and Laval (Quebec) areas.

The two suspects are described as follows:

1- White male, 30 years old, 5’6” to 5’8”, heavy build, short dark hair, clean shaven.

2- White female, 30 years old, dyed blond hair, ponytail.

Both suspects spoke with an accent that was not recognizable.

The Gatineau Police Service have requested Crime Stoppers’ Organizations seek your assistance in identifying the suspects involved in the theft of various tools from a construction site on the future boulevard Des Allumetières.

During the night of March 13, 2007, suspects broke into a construction site located near to Montmartre and Rouleau streets in Gatineau. The thieves cut through the fence and then forced the locks on trailers and containers located on the site and owned by the M.D.I. Company. They brought in a truck of unknown make to carry off their loot.

Once inside the trailers and containers the thieves removed several heavy and costly tools using a wheelbarrow to transport them. Among the stolen equipment were drills, a generator, and grinders saws—all equipment that is used in steel structures. The truck with the stolen tools then left by the same route used to gain entry.

During the previous week i.e., 9-12 March another theft had been committed, likely by the same suspects. On this occasion the thieves stole 900ft of heavy-duty wire #4, 21/2 inches in diameter with three conducting wires. It is clear that the suspects must have used a truck to remove the stolen goods.

Security guards now patrol the property to ensure that no further such crimes occur.
