Theft From Vehicle

Crime Stoppers and the Gatineau Police Service are seeking your assistance in identifying the suspects involved in a theft from a vehicle that was parked in a lot in the east end of Gatineau.

On the 29 November 2006, at 7:30 PM a brown Ford Mini Van entered the Market Fresh parking lot that is located at the intersection of Laverendry and Labrosse Boulevards in Gatineau. The driver of the van left a laptop computer as well as loose change and jewelry on the front passenger seat.

The driver entered the store to buy a few items and while he was inside two twenty-year-old males broke the side passenger window and stole the computer and jewelry.

This type of incident is being repeated on a daily basis on both sides of the Ottawa River. The thefts are, in most cases, crimes of opportunity that could be prevented by storing all valuables out of sight and the vehicle locked.
