On Thursday, October 12, 2006, at approximately 7 pm, a group of males was gathered on Marlin Private adjacent to the park. An unknown shooter, who was hiding behind a large tree in the park, fired two rounds of buckshot towards the males from a shotgun. Two members of the group suffered gun shot wounds and shotgun pellets damaged two vehicles in the vicinity. The shooter then ran across the park towards Patola Private and fled in a white vehicle (possibly a Honda). The vehicle was last seen speeding towards Cahill Drive.
At the time of the shooting there were several young children playing in the park. Luckily none of the children were injured and the two male victims have recovered from their injuries.
