Crime Stoppers and the Gatineau Police Service are seeking your assistance in identifying the suspect involved in an armed robbery of a convenience store in Aylmer, Gatineau.
On the evening of October 4, 2006 at about 8pm a man was seen surveying a convenience store that is located in a small mall at 43 Front St., Aylmer in Gatineau. A young girl aged about 8 and wearing a blue and white striped toque, accompanied him. No crime was committed on this occasion.
Later that same evening, approximately 10pm, the same man, wearing the same toque that the young girl had worn earlier, returned to the store. This time the man walked around the aisles before going up to the refrigerator to obtain a large cold beer. Once all the customers had left the store the suspect approached the cashier, brandishing a knife and demanding money. The cashier opened the till and gave him money. The suspect then fled the store by the entry.
The suspect was a tall white male about 40 years old who spoke French with poor pronunciation. He stood about 6 feet, weighed about 175 lbs, had dark brown hair and was wearing blue jogging pants, a long-sleeved black jacket and a blue and white striped toque.
